The Ultimate Triathlon Challenge Sydney January 28 2017 – Finishes Port Macquarie May 7 2017
Two renowned endurance athletes will execute a triathlon every day for 100 days. In this world first John Mergler and Debi Hazelden will respectively attempt to complete 100 iron distance triathlons and 100 half iron distance triathlons in 100 days. That’s right…. Debi will swim 1.9km, ride 90km and run 21.1km whilst John doubles up and swims 3.8km, rides 180km and runs 42.2km every day for 100 consecutive days! Between them they will clock up 570km of swimming, 27,000km of riding and 6,300km of running a combined total of 33,870km which is the distance from Sydney to New York and back!

John and Debi’s 100th day will be at Ironman Australia. They are encouraging triathletes who are also competing in Ironman Australia or Ironman 70.3 Port Macquarie to join the Iron Century team and fundraise with them for the Red Cross to help achieve their total of $100,000.

John and Debi did the first day at Kurnell, the next 94 days will be in Sydney, swimming at Prince Alfred Park Pool and cycling and running in Centennial Park. The last 5 days will be in Port Macquarie, with the final day competing in Ironman Australia.
